NINE TALENTED STUDENTS QUALIFY TO COMPETE ON THE WORLD STAGE IN AN INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION!

Nine students of the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy have qualified for one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world – the Royal Academy of Dance’s Genee International Ballet Competition – which will be held in London next month.

To qualify for this prestigious competition, the students had to gain Distinction in their Advance 2 Royal Academy of Dance Examination. As a result they will go direct into the Semi Finals, competing against students from all over the world.

The nine extremely talented students are: Laura Atencio (15 yrs, Ryde), Anastasia Bertinshaw (16 yrs, Greenwich), Jessica Borg (16 yrs, Castle Hill), Taylor Bree (16 yrs, St Leonards), Kealy Fouracre (17 yrs, St Leonards), Brittany Galpin (16 yrs, South Coogee), Tara Gower (16 yrs, Monash), Nicole Marshall (18 yrs, Oak Flats) and Hayley Page (16 yrs, Avalon).

Following the completion of the competition Mrs Pearson is conducting her annual Audition tour of English and European State Schools with the dancers being joined by a further 10 students. Over 14 days, the students will audition at many prestigious schools including the Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet School and Hamburg Ballet School amongst others.

Mrs Pearson said “I am extremely proud that such a large number of students have qualified for such a prestigious international ballet competition and wish them an enjoyable and successful experience. On tour they will also have the opportunity to watch classes and rehearsals by several Companies and some of the older students will be auditioning for Junior Ballet Companies.”
