On Monday 13 August Mrs P’s life story to date, and her contribution to the Australian and international dance world was brought to the screen on ABC TV’s Australian Story.  Watched by well over a million viewers, the production, entitled Tatiana is Dancing: Tanya Pearson, traced Mrs P’s remarkable life – from a destitute little girl in Russia and her family’s displacement during the harrowing times of World War II, to her discovery of ballet and subsequent move to Australia (where she became a darling of dance), to the establishment of the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and Sydney City Youth Ballet, and the family she started in-between.

With interviews with Mrs P, Nicole Sharp, Lucinda Dunn, David McAllister AM and her husband Keith Pearson, the show also featured footage taken during the rehearsals and performances of the tribute gala Mrs P – 50 Years – A Celebration, as well as never before seen footage and photos from all stages of Mrs P’s life giving an unprecedented insight into how Mrs P has come to be one of the doyennes of Australian Ballet.
