STUDENT SUCCESS AT YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX FINALS 2013

EMILY SEYMOUR REPRESENTS AUSTRALIA IN GRAND FINAL

 

22 APRIL 2013 – Finishing in the top twenty dancers from all over the world, Emily Seymour (16yrs) was the only Australian to make the Grand Final of the world’s largest ballet scholarship competition – the Youth America Grand Prix. Receiving a number of scholarship offers, Emily has accepted the scholarship to Houston Ballet II, where she will commence in July.

 

Other competitors who were successful in New York were Tahlysia Smedley (15 yrs) who was awarded a scholarship to Academie de danse Princesse Grace, Monaco where she will commence in August and fellow student Anyah Siddall (16 yrs) who was offered a summer intensive at the Washington School of Ballet.

 

Also performing in New York was the Tanya Pearson Pas de Six from the Polar Express which was awarded as one of the top twelve in the competition. The Pas de Six will next be performed as part of the Sydney City Youth Ballet’s season of The Polar Express from Tuesday 2 – Sunday 7 July at the Glen Street Theatre, Frenchs Forest.
