VIDA POLAKOV WINS GENEE GOLD

Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy student, Vida Polakov, has been awarded the Royal Academy of Dance’s highest honour – the Gold Medal at the 2014 Genee International Ballet Competition in Belgium. It is one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world, attracting the finest young dancers from around the globe.

 

Trained by Mrs Tanya Pearson OAM, Vida Polakov will perform the starring role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in Sydney City Youth Ballet’s, The Nutcracker. The production will be staged from Tuesday 16 December to Sunday 21 December 2014 at the Glen Street Theatre, Belrose.

The Nutcracker will be presented under the direction of Tanya Pearson OAM and Lucinda Dunn OAM. Also a former student of Tanya Pearson, Lucinda went on to become the Australian Ballet’s Principal Artist and longest serving Ballerina. In January 2015, Lucinda Dunn will step into the role as Artistic Director of the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and the Sydney City Youth Ballet.
