3 Academy students selected for Prix de Lausanne Semi Finals

Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Acaddemy – Prix de Lausanne Success!

The Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy, under the Artistic Direction of Lucinda Dunn, announces an impressive 3 of its students have been selected into the prestigious and most elite ballet competition in the world – The Prix de Lausanne Competition in Switzerland.


A record 388 candidates applied for the 2017 edition of Prix de Lausanne. 244 girls and 94 boys from all around the world – 37 different countries – registered for the video audition. Only 72 students have been selected by a panel of 9 Jury Members of to take part in the competition from January 30th to February 4th, 2017.


The Academy has an incredibly long history with the Prix de Lausanne competition, commencing as far back as 1984 boasting numerous Prix scholarship winners including its own Artistic Director Lucinda Dunn who won a Prix Scholarship to the Royal Ballet in 1989. Former Prix students of the Academy include Lisa Maree Cullum, Olivia Bell, Nigel Burley, Jack Bertinshaw who have all gone on to highly successful careers in the worlds leading ballet companies.


This year, 14 year old Rose Dalton (formerly with Premier Dance Academy QLD), 16 year old Tyla Steinbach (formerly of Samantha Jane School of Ballet WA) and 16 year old Alexander Smith (formerly of Premier Dance Academy QLD) will carry on this tradition and continue their training and preparations over these coming months to compete alongside 69 elite young ballet students from around the world. All three students have travelled interstate in order to train at the Tanya Pearson Academy and their sacrifices and commitment to their studies is obviously paying off.
